Let's check out a review of the latest 2019 Ford F-150, and learn where you can go to get behind the wheel to check out its performance capabilities for yourself.

What's New on the 2019 Ford F-150?

The 2019 Ford F-150 arrives in showrooms with a number of welcome new features this year. It debuts a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, plus a new standard 3.5-liter gas V6 that produces high horsepower. At certain trim levels, there's a new 36-gallon fuel tank. You also get a range of standard features, including new standard front crash warning and emergency automatic braking to protect you against accidents.

Engine Lineup and Configurations

There are a whopping six available engines on the new Ford F-150, enabling you to choose the one whose specs best fit your needs. These are:

  • 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft torque.
  • 2.7-liter EcoBoost® with 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft torque.
  • 3.5-liter EcoBoost® with 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft torque.
  • H.O. 3.5-liter EcoBoost® with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft torque.
  • 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 with 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft torque.
  • 3.0-liter Power Stroke Diesel engine with 250 horsepower and 440 lb-ft torque.

In terms of configurations, there are three different cab styles available: the regular cab, the extended SuperCab, and the SuperCrew (Crew Cab) setup. You can also choose from three different bed lengths: a 5.5-foot short bed, a standard 6.5-foot bed, or an 8-foot long bed. The available beds depend on the cab you choose. For instance, only the SuperCrew offers the option for a short bed, and it doesn't allow for the long bed.

Best-in-Class Power and Capability

The new Ford F-150 hits showrooms maintaining its reputation for an outstanding pickup that offers best-in-class capability at all levels. With the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® twin turbo V6 engine, you get up to 470 lb-ft of torque as well as 375 horsepower, which-when outfitted properly-gives you a highest-rated conventional towing rating of up to 13,200 pounds. The turbo diesel engine, on the other hand, allows up to 11,400 pounds of towing, also best-in-class for a diesel engine.

Of course, towing is only part of the performance equation. The Ford F-150 also offers payload ratings that are best-in-class. Ford advertises a maximum payload rating of up to 2,890 pounds of cargo in the back when outfitted with its available 5.0-liter V8 engine.
