The midsize car class is filled with excellent options, but the 2018 Ford Fusion and the 2018 Honda Accord lead the pack. Both of these practical, well-equipped vehicles have a lot of appeal for a variety of buyers, so which is the right choice for you?

Drivers in Geneva, Canandaigua and Rochester can find out the differences between these sedans with our 2018 Ford Fusion vs. Honda Accord comparison.

The Ford Fusion has an exceptionally spacious interior with plenty of headroom and legroom in the front and rear seats. The seats are plush and comfortable as well, with additional luxury options like leather upholstery or heated and ventilated seats. The wide trunk also offers 16 cubic feet of cargo space, and the standard 60/40-split folding rear seat can be folded flat for more storage.

The Honda Accord also has comfortable, supportive seating and plenty of space for passengers. Similar options are available as well, such as leather upholstery and power-adjustability, and the trunk can accommodate 16.7 cubic feet of space. The trunk opening is a little narrow, but larger items can be stored easily with the 60/40-split folding rear seat.

The Ford Sync infotainment system with voice commands for music streaming and call or text functions is included in the Ford Fusion. The Sync 3 system is an available upgrade, which offers an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, navigation and an easy-to-use interface that's modeled after smart device menus.

The Honda Accord comes with Bluetooth, two USB ports, Siri Eyes Free and a 7-inch display screen. Upgrades include wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, a Wi-Fi hotspot and an 8-inch display screen. Like the Sync 3 system, the Accord infotainment system is intuitive and pairs with plenty of apps.

The Ford Fusion has a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. There are two other options available for more performance, the 181-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 245-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The Sport model also comes with a 325-horsepower, 2.7-liter V-6, which leads the class. These powerful engines offer lively acceleration and sharp handling for an exciting driving experience.

The 192-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder comes standard with the Honda Accord, but a 252-horsepower turbo-four is also available. The base engine is suitable for daily driving, and the high-performance turbo-four has plenty of sport for more fun and excitement. The Accord is available with a continuously variable transmission or a manual transmission as well.
