A Battle of Engines

Both of these great trucks pack some serious power beneath their hoods. The F-250 standard powertrain is a 6.2L V6 engine that puts out 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, while the Ram’s standard engine is a tad more powerful. Still, it’s the available engines where the F-250 really shines. The available turbo-diesel V8 in the F-250 has a 10-speed transmission and puts out 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.

The standard 6.4L V8 in the Ram 2500 puts out a little more power at 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque as well as offers a great optional turbo-diesel V6 that produces 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. It’s still a great engine but offers less than the engines of the F-250.

When it comes to maximum towing capacity, both trucks are essentially even with a maximum towing capacity of each vehicle reaching 20,000 pounds when properly equipped. Although the peak performance is nearly the same, we believe the Ford F-250 gives slightly better engine options that help set it apart from the Ram 2500.

Enticing Interior Features All Around

Both of these fantastic trucks are full of incredible features, that’s true. With either option, you’ll get the opportunity to experience luxury at its finest. When it comes to standard features, though, we think the F-250 has the slight edge. The convenience of the standard SYNC® system is a beauty to behold. It will give you nearly full access to phone calls, music, and more!

When it comes to available features, the Ram 2500 is no slouch. It comes with an available Digital Rearview Mirror that features an LCD monitor that provides a real-time video stream from a rear-facing camera. It also offers an available 900-watt Harman Kardon® Premium Audio System that features 17 speakers.

Still, we believe features on the F-250, such as the available SYNC® 3 upgraded infotainment system, the available wireless charging pad, and the available upfitter switches located in an overhead console that give easy access to accessories such as a winch, lights, strobes, and two-way radio, ultimately give the F-250 the edge.
